OUR HISTORY
Trinity Church was founded in 1926 in the city of San Fernando. After giving his life to Jesus and being set free from alcoholism, our founding Pastor Robert Espinoza felt an immediate call to serve God. He came to the small town of San Fernando from Los Angeles and immediately began evangelizing to the workers in the area.
As more and more people began following Jesus through the work of Pastor Robert, they began to meet in various homes, discipling those who became followers of Jesus. As the gatherings grew, Pastor Robert and his wife Dolores, began renting buildings to accommodate the growing congregation.
It wasn’t until the 1940's that they built what is now our Chapel. Trinity Church was built on the faithfulness of God and the brothers and sisters who committed themselves to the great commission. Our Sanctuary was eventually built in the 1960's. Today it stands as a reminder of our legacy and a vision for our future.
Trinity Church is multi-generational and multi-cultural in its DNA. Trinity Church is two distinct congregations under one roof. The English-speaking fellowship known as Trinity Church, and the Spanish-speaking fellowship known as Iglesia La Trinidad enjoy services under one Lord, one Pastor, and one Vision: Connecting people to God and each other.
Our founding Pastor Robert Espinoza had a heart for Missions and we continue his legacy today. We believe in reaching the world as well as our local community for Christ. This is why at Trinity Church, supporting local and global missionary efforts is one of our main objectives. Today, we support over 40 missionaries and missions’ projects around the world. We recognize Trinity Church is not the perfect church with perfect pastors, but we are the perfect church for imperfect people!
